Software Engineer (Boston, MA)

DUTIES:
Develop Web applications and building enterprise solutions, by using JSF, AJAX and working with distributed server side systems. Use object oriented programming, distribute computing, build management and system administrator. Support development and production systems

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science
  • 1 year exp development experience involving distributed and network computing
  • Graduate coursework in distributed computing, network computing, peer to peer computing, mobile computing, Java, P2P systems and architecture, and wireless networks
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are willing to deal with demanding customers.
  • Are willing to work extra hours or at odd hours to troubleshoot issues. Occassional travels will be required.

Java/JSF Developer (Boston, MA)

Job Description:
We are seeking engineers to contribute to our most recent offerings. Our cutting edge Web 2.0 applications are implemented in a classic N-Tier stack, utilizing our powerful and proprietary server-side technologies and a presentation tier built on top of the latest Java frameworks: JSF, Facelets and A4J.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for smart, energetic, proficient programmers with the desire to routinely take on new projects and challenges. We are interested in candidates who enjoy working with people, solving real problems, and communicating solutions to those problems. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; a passion for performance and quality; and thirst to learn more.

Qualifications - We desire someone who is highly capable in all of the following areas:

  • Java/JSF development experience
  • Hibernate, Facelets and A4J knowledge a plus
  • Traditional web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, Tomcat)
  • SQL database experience
  • UML and familiarity with design patterns and concepts
  • 5+ years of overall Java experience
  • 1+ years of JSF experience

System Engineer (Boston, MA)

Job Description:
Work in our system engineering group, which will involve concentrating on building and extending our distributed high-performance computing platform.

Candidate Profile:
Energetic, detail-oriented, software engineer with a desire to design systems with mind-numbing performance.  The candidate should enjoy working with people, solving non-trivial problems, and communicate solutions to those problems.  She should also be eager to learn more about how others have engineered high-performance systems, and incorporate this knowledge into her own implementations.  In addition, the candidate needs to be passionate about performance and quality; and should always be ready to learn more.

Qualifications - We desire someone who is an expert in at least some of the following areas and eager to learn the others:

  • Distributed computing -
  • Compilers, interpreters, particularly experience with JVM
  • Fault tolerance
  • Network and storage devices
  • High-performance computation
  • Algorithms and data structures
  • OS/Kernel experience

Additionally, the candidate should have:

Project Manager (Boston, MA)

Job Description:
Work with sales to design and implement customized solutions for our clients.  This will involve writing specifications, interacting directly with customers to ensure their needs are being met, and some programming.  The position will require an ability to understand the business needs of customers and how to implement solutions for them using our distributed platform.  The position is full-time in Boston, and may require light domestic travel.

Candidate Profile:
Smart, energetic, proficient programmer with a desire to routinely take on new projects and challenges.  Enjoys working with people, solving real problems, and communicating solutions to those problems.  Have worked on client/server applications, and know Java and Servlets. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Are passionate about performance and quality; and are always ready to learn more.

Qualifications - We desire someone with experience in some of the following areas and eager to learn or to gain experience in others:

  • Working directly in a client facing role
  • Databases (SQL, Oracle)
  • Financial services experience is a plus

Professional Services Engineer (Boston, MA)

Job Description:
A successful candidate will be trained to work directly on projects for top tier hedge funds and investment banks, assisting in implementing, deploying and supporting advanced analytic applications and quantitative tools.  As part of this role, responsibilities will include: interacting with investment and IT professionals in order to gather and analyze requirements, work on system design, product development, product improvement, test planning, testing, documentation, and delivery. This is a growth position and we are willing to train someone with the right potential. Some domestic travel may be required for this position.

Candidate Profile:
Positive, energetic professional with computer science background or expertise.  Takes pleasure in working with customers to achieve satisfaction of stated requirements and recurring issues.  Has experience and is capable of working as an effective member of a team to achieve stated milestones on schedule without compromising the quality of service or product.  The candidate should be accomplished at multi-tasking, listening, and communicating via both oral and written mediums.

Qualifications - We desire someone who is highly capable in all of the following areas:

  • Creation and management of schedules, task lists, and deadlines
  • Java programming
  • Skilled in major aspects of J2EE, including JDBC / SQL / Oracle
  • Experience in shell scripting

Additionally, the candidate should have:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or similar field, from a top program; 1-2 years of experience in a technical professional services role; 3+ years of working experience in J2EE area with a strong track record;
